Patient Safety Card

The Patient Safety Card for people with a rare disease is designed for hospitals, physicians, patients and self-help organizations involved in the care of individuals with rare conditions. Similar to an Anesthesia Problem Card, it is intended to be carried at all times and provides healthcare professionals with essential information about the rare disease.

 

It provides the clinical team essential information about disease-specific considerations during anesthesia, pain management, surgery, or emergency situations. Ideally, it should be presented to the anesthesiologist before the procedure. The name of the rare disease can be entered directly on the card. Carrying the card at all times is recommended for emergencies.
